The Cut Golf Course has hosted many prestigious competitions since opening in 2005 and regularly holds competitive golfing events for players, catering for a range of skill levels.
Events such as the WA PGA Championship were held at The Cut in 2007 and 2008, as well as numerous other Pro Am events in conjunction with the PGA of Australia.
One of the highlights each year is the annual PGA Pro-Am which was restored to the club calendar in 2016.
Jointly hosted with the City of Mandurah and Mandurah Country Club the 2016 Steelscene Peel Pro Am took out PGA Pro Am event of the Year. Steelscene and other major sponsors returned to support the event in 2017.
Each event features a field of leading professional players from around Australia, each of whom team with three invited amateurs.
The professionals compete for cash prizes – playing 18 holes of stroke play each day – while at the same time offering encouragement and advice to their amateur partners.
The event includes individual and team Stableford competitions. The competition concludes with a sit-down presentation dinner at which top performers are honoured.
These events present a great opportunity to showcase our club to a wider golfing community.
The Cut hosts annual open events for keen amateurs to test their skills and these are always well publicised in advance.
One major club event that is always well supported is our charity golf day, held in the second half of the year.
Funds raised are donated to Pat Thomas House, a worthy cause assisting local Mandurah families affected by domestic violence.
In the three years that we have held the event, we have raised more than $90,000 to provide counselling and support services for women and children.
Our fourth annual charity golf day in support of Pat Thomas House will be held on November 24 at The Cut Golf Course.
